Calming Japanese Sweets Making Experience in Ginza

There are many Japanese confectionery shops in Ginza, and many travelers buy wagashi, Japanese confectionery, as small souvenirs. Today, we would like to introduce a wagashi-making experience at Ginza’s top recommended wagashi shop, Ginza Fugetsudo, where you can make the wagashi that line the shelves of the store yourself. It is a unique and valuable experience to be able to make your own sweets while watching a demonstration by a skilled craftsman.

Our staff from The Gate Hotel Tokyo also went and tried it out.

Ginza Fugetsudo

On the second floor at the corner of Miyuki-dori and Namiki-dori, you will find a relaxing Japanese space. Ginza Fugetsudo is a teahouse where you can enjoy freshly made Japanese sweets, dishes that make the best use of selected ingredients, and fine desserts paired with champagne. It is a 5-minute walk from The Gate Hotel Tokyo, or a 2-minute walk from Ginza Station Exit B7 or B9 if coming by train.

Healing space full of Japanese charm

You will feel calm just by being there, in a private room that’s like a hideaway, at a table arranged in a clean and comfortable manner, or at a counter where you can see the craftsmen’s skills up close.

On the first floor, there is also an unmanned sponge cake shop that is perfect for omotoze (gift wrapping).
