Located in the Rissei Garden Hulic Kyoto this library has a collection of approximately 3,000 books in five categories, selected and supervised by book director “BACH” Masataka Haba. In addition to the main library, there are four other libraries in Rissei Garden Hulic Kyoto: Kadokko Library (Community), Kadokko Library (Art), Kadokko Library (Kids), and Kadokko Library (Memory) (outdoor exhibition).

“Libraries provide books on Kyoto sightseeing and Kyoto food in the main library to help visitors to Kyoto enjoy a more fulfilling trip. The main library has a lineup of books on Kyoto sightseeing and Kyoto food to make your trip more fulfilling, and part of the ‘Kadokko Library’ has a wide selection of books for small children, so that everyone, from adults to small children, can pick up their favorite book and read it. The library is open to everyone.

The bookshelf supervised by Rissei Library is also set up in the 3F Lounge & Patio, a facility exclusively for guests of The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa by HULIC, and guests are free to browse.
In addition, although book check-out is normally available only to members of the reading club (annual membership fee: 1,000 yen), guests staying at the hotel can borrow books from the Rissei Library free of charge by applying for a membership card at the hotel front desk.
