The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon

Situated on the 12th floor, these remarkable guestrooms are among the most spacious and finest at the hotel. (The 14th floor, being the top floor, offers an exclusive terrace and bar exclusively for guests’ use.)

Inside these impressive rooms, you will find William Morris wallpaper, paying homage to the father of modern British design, adorning the entire space. While all the hotel’s furniture was thoughtfully designed by interior designer Shigeru Uchida, the incorporation of this wallpaper and the addition of an egg chair designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen serve as a tribute to Uchida’s contemporary and innovative vision, perfectly blending with the modern essence of Asakusa.

Open windows facing east and northeast allow guests to enjoy the city of Asakusa and the Tokyo Sky Tree at a good distance. The beds are made of horsehair mattresses, the finest mattresses made by Slumberland, which was honored with a Royal Warrant of the British Royal Family.

The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa

The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa presents four exclusive suites of two types, available in both the main building and the schoolhouse building. Each suite features a king bed and twin beds, allowing guests to select their preferred bedding arrangement.

Nestled on the upper floors (6th and 7th) of the main wing, which was constructed anew during the hotel’s opening, THE GATE suites offer enchanting views of the Gion area and the lush Higashiyama ridge. This picturesque panorama provides a unique opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in the splendor of Kyoto’s four seasons and embrace nature’s beauty even amid the bustling cityscape.

The suites within the schoolhouse building, skillfully transformed from the former Rissei Elementary School, occupy the lower floors facing the serene Takase River.
