SUKE6 DINER, a Cafe with a Natural Yeast Bakery

Hello, this is the staff of The Gate Hotel Ryogoku.

The Gate Hotel Ryogoku has been distributing a map of the Sumida River attractions to guests staying at the hotel. Thanks to your support, the map has been very well received by joggers and non-joggers alike.

In this article, we would like to introduce SUKE6 DINER, a restaurant with a bakery, which is recommended in the Sumida River Attractions Map.

Location and access

The restaurant is located on a corner near Sumida Park.

The store is on the first and second floors, and the bakery is on the third floor.

This store is located on a corner of Sukeroku Dream Street next to Sumida Park. It is located near the sightseeing spots of Asakusa and has a great location with a close view of the Tokyo Skytree.

The restaurant has interior seating on the first and second floors, with an open kitchen on the first floor and a stairwell to the second floor, creating an open space. The bakery is located on the third floor and can be accessed via the stairs inside the store or via the side entrance outside the store.

The open space with the appearance of a fashionable cafe can be used for any occasion, from a gathering of local friends to a break from sightseeing for both domestic and international visitors.

Access from the hotel

It is a 6-minute walk from The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon. Exit the hotel and turn right, and when you reach Azuma-bashi Bridge, walk straight along the Sumida River toward Sumida Park.

From The Gate Hotel Ryogoku, take the Sobu Line from JR Ryogoku Station to Asakusabashi Station, then transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line to Asakusa Station. If you walk along the Sumida River without taking the train, it takes about 25 minutes. If it is a fine day, it may be a good idea to stop by for a walk.

Enjoy a variety of dishes with freshly baked bread

Delicious-looking bread lined up in the store. Muffins, scones, and other baked goods are also available.

SUKE6 DINER features natural yeast bread baked in the workshop on the third floor! Enjoy croissants, bagels, pain au chocolat, and other freshly baked breads that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Also, look out for the daily sandwich specials that are announced daily on SNS.

And it is not only the bread that is carefully curated. The owner also offers a wide variety of food and ingredients that enhance the taste of the bread, including additive-free charcuterie such as sausages and bacon, handmade jams and granola, and fresh vegetables and eggs that he brings in from the Miura Peninsula every week.

Currently, during breakfast hours, the menu is also available as a one-plate meal, customized with your own choice of bread, egg dish, and accompanying salad or meat dish.

Two sandwiches of the day. It is exciting to see what flavors they offer each day.

On the third floor is the bakery Manufacture

Take the elevator at the entrance from outside or take the stairs inside the store to the 3rd floor.

On the third floor, there is a bakery where you can actually see the bread being baked through the glass windows.

Fresh vegetables and eggs used in the store are also displayed for sale, allowing customers to see and feel the uncompromising attention to detail that goes into each and every ingredient.

A full takeout menu!

This time, we tried the Sukeroku Burger, one of the most popular items on the SUKE6 DINER menu, and some freshly baked bread for takeout.

The meat used for the Sukeroku Burger is grass-fed beef, which means that it has been raised only on grass, grazed in a natural environment, and is juicy with the full flavor of the original meat. The grilled onions and tomatoes combined with the Mexican spicy chipotle sauce are exquisite and very satisfying. The patty is also a fluffy bread with just the right amount of sweetness the more you bite into it, which you can enjoy because it is bakery bread.

On a fine day, we recommend eating it outside.

The homemade bread was freshly baked, so the steam was still rising and fogging up the vinyl. When enjoying it at home, reheating it in the toaster will make it even more delicious.

We recommend the English muffins! The rustic taste, which is delicious even without anything else on it, speaks volumes about the quality of the bread itself.

As you can see, in addition to the extensive takeout menu, various delivery services are also available. And, you can purchase assortments of Manufacture’s breads, sandwich kits, and more at the online store. For more information, please visit the official website.

The restaurant is located right in the middle of the recommended course on the Sumida River Highlights Map. It is easily accessible from Asakusa or Ryogoku, and our staff proudly recommends this restaurant. Enjoy your stroll with freshly baked bread to fill your stomach and mind.
